Synopsis of A Bite of the Apple by Aimee Taylor

It's Spring time in England and New York and Faye’s life is positively blooming in all aspects: emotionally, physically and financially; and finally at the age of twenty-six, she’s a woman discovering the joys of uninhibited, hot sex with her fiancé - who's gifted in every department!

She’s packed in her job and packed her cases for a three month ‘vacation’ in America, and Faye’s excited yet nervous about meeting her prospective Italian-American in-laws; and there’s a very good reason why.

But when her fiancé gets some news that agitates him, before they’re due to jet off – it’s only the onset of a series of mishaps that occurs along their journey, and when Faye’s engagement ring goes missing – amongst other things, she can’t help but take it as a bad sign of things to come.

With her fiancé distancing himself from her, Faye questions their future and they mutually decide on a break whilst in Las Vegas. Only absorbed in her personal dilemmas, what Faye doesn’t know – is there’s more than something on her fiancé’s mind, and whilst apart from one another, they are both forced to deal with problems that can’t be ignored any longer; though Alexei finds it difficult to share his.

Turning to her brother-in-law Lucas – whose marriage is in trouble, feelings get out of control and Faye is left guilt-ridden and confused. Where do her loyalties lie in respect of her love and family honour? Why has her man gone missing, causing Faye to relapse into her old habits, when she thought her eating dissorder was finally conquered?

Meanwhile, back in England and unbeknown to the Lockhart brothers – their widowed father has been seeing a beautiful younger woman, which affects his heart in more ways than one. George Lockhart is therfore forced to make vital changes in his life if he wants to see his next birthday.

A death in the family occurs; suddenly tearing the family apart – but incredibly, more tragic news makes them all pull together again. Considering the recent dramas and having received an unexpected offer, Lucas grabs the opportunity to move his family away from New York and make a fresh start – and it’s perfect…Well almost.

A BITE OF THE APPLE explores love and relationships affecting people of all ages; how people can fall so low and pick themselves up again; how they deal with losing so much whether it’s a loved one or part of their soul and dignity, and how through sacrifices and sheer willpower, they gain back a breath of new life and most importantly one another…Only some feelings remain locked inside some of their hearts - forever.

Out of the dark is a light

So be strong whilst the candle still burns

Don’t be afraid of the night

Keep the faith until the sun returns

And with the sunrise comes the thaw

Melting the ice from your heart

And upon this new warmth we can draw

That we should never – have ever been apart.
