A Sibling for Sam

It started when a little bump appeared on my mum's tummy

"We'll have a new addition soon" - I was told by Mummy

As her tummy grew, I rubbed cream onto the bump

Then one day I was rubbing when I felt a throbbing thump - IT REALLY MADE ME JUMP!

Mummy laughed and said, "It's only the baby kicking ,Sam."

And then she took me shopping for some new clothes and a pram

Dad brought down boxes from the attic - my old baby things

And grandma knitted cardigans with coloured wooly strings

Mum was always cleaning cupboards - in every single room!

Dad said, "It is a sign that the baby's coming soon."

Then one day my Grandma came to pick me up from school

We all got into Grandad's car - off to the hospital

They told me they were taking me to see my baby sister

And when I saw her tiny face I cuddled her and kissed her

I like to help my mum at home and so I'll fetch a nappy

I try to make my sister laugh as so to keep her happy

There are some little things she does that really do annoy me

Like Chewing toys and tugging hair and fingers in her tea

But mostly when we play together she really makes me laugh

Especially when she splashes, blowing rapsberries in the bath

My sister gets called funny names like Honeybunch and Cheekyboo

And there's Pumpkin, Munchkin, Pudding, Angel-Face and Sweetpea too

But I just call her by her name - honestly I do!

She's my little, baby sister and I love my 'Amy-Lou.'
