Frustration Is...
Stuck in a rut, between a rock and a hard place,
Unable to conceal that big spot on your face,
Receiving another rejection letter through the post,
Unable to be with the one you love most,
Unable to talk 'cause the music's too loud,
Unable to gloat, though you're feeling so proud,
Unable to sing, for your throat is too sore,
Unable to spend, for your pocket's too poor,
Trying to cope with the day-to-day pressure,
Trying to relax in your only time of leisure,
Unable to cry even though your heart's broken,
Not being heard 'cause you're not that outspoken,
Unable to figure out where it went wrong,
Unable to dance to your favourite song,
Taking two steps forward then four steps behind,
Having no control over body and mind,
Stuck in a job where you can't climb the ladder,
Frustration's getting anxious, getting hotter, getting madder!
Not being tall enough to reach the top shelf,
Being kept in the dark about the state of one's health,
Not being able to rid of a stain,
Not being able to cure one's pain,
Never being able to get there on time,
Racking your brain to make the words rhyme,
Finding it hard to solve the equation
Repeating a task or resisting temptation,
Establishing the motive to a crime,
Or trying to keep to the music in time,
Having a mind blank - a momentary lapse,
Always being told maybe, one day, perhaps?
Unable to recall through having amnesia,
Unable to control a tick, fit or seizure,
Eager to have them - but they're not yours,
Desperate to stop all these terrible wars,
Frustration can be over things trivial and deep,
Frustration is not being able to sleep,
Not being able to save someone dying,
Or hush the baby, who's screaming and crying,
Trying to persuade somebody to stay,
Or knowing there's no hope of getting away,
Frustration's spurred by what you can't do,
Or bursting your bladder in need of the loo,
Unable to locate those missing house keys,
Being the recipient of one's aim to tease,
Finding it awkward to stick to that diet,
And finding it harder to keep your mouth quiet,
Waiting is frustrating in long queues for ages,
Or discovering a book is missing vital pages,
Then there's not being able to zip up your jeans,
Unable to understand what something means,
Frustrations, frustrations! I could go on forever,
But, I'll attempt to control them and will endeavour;
Not to get hot and bothered when at the end of my tether,
I'll conquer them by being patient and clever,
Frustration is negative feed for the mind,
And all because one can't feel, hear, see or find,
But one of my biggest frustrates by far,
Unable to open that damn, pickle jar!
