There Was A Time...

You made me laugh, really bellow in contortion,

Smirks and tears until I could breathe no more

Now the jokes are wearing thin, conversation's dwindling

I seethe with the pain, it's unbearable - sore

Our talks sparked debates into nights - many late

Now, as you ramble on, through tedium I yawn

Your food for thought, I hunger no more, nor anticipate

Because the T-shirt's been bought and well worn

And I've worn a thousand times a smile that portrays -

Happiness, contentment, love even?

But that spell that once put me under your infectious gaze

Has now become broken, tainted, unwoven

We know each other inside out ,

Body and mind discovered thoroughly

Sharing everything from cigarettes to problems

Don't want to share anymore, there's no mystery
